Jenny Entsminger,
Executive Director

Jenny  is the Executive Director of the West Virginia Pregnancy Center Coalition.  She has served in pregnancy center outreach for over 30 years.  She served as executive director for pregnancy centers in Amarillo Texas, and Frederick, Maryland.  In 1995, Jenny was appointed as a consultant and trainer for Care Net, a national pregnancy center affiliation organization. In 2002, Jenny became Care Net’s Vice President of Center Advancement and for six years oversaw the development of programs for more than 1,100 pregnancy centers across the United States and Canada.  Jenny has also travelled numerous times to the former Soviet Bloc nation of Belarus where she helped start new pregnancy centers.  In 2012, Jenny and her husband Kurt founded Cross Roads Pregnancy Care Center in Charleston, West Virginia, where Jenny served as Executive Director for 5 years and now serves as a board member.  Jenny is the loving mother and grandmother of 3 children and 4 grandchildren and recently published a book about her Oklahoma family roots entitled: When the Country Was New.

Kurt Entsminger JD,
Board Member

Kurt Entsminger is a founding board member of the West Virginia Pregnancy Center Coalition and the husband of Executive Director, Jenny Entsminger. Kurt is a successful litigation attorney who graduated first in his law class in 1980, served as an Assistant United States Attorney during the Reagan Administration and has handled thousands of litigation matters. In 1998, Kurt left his West Virginia law practice to become General Counsel for Care Net, the largest U.S. pregnancy center affiliation network. In 2003, Kurt became President of Care Net and served in that role for nearly 5 years.  During his tenure with Care Net, Kurt drafted the initial version of the Center Commitment of Care and Competence which now serves as the accepted standards of care for all pregnancy centers across the United States. In 2003, Kurt and Peggy Hartshorn of Heartbeat International worked together to open the Option Line pregnancy helpline which has reached over 5,000,000 men and women. In 2008, Kurt returned to the full-time practice of law in Charleston, West Virginia. In 2012, Kurt and Jenny helped found Cross Road Pregnancy Care Center which has served thousands of women, men, and babies on the East End of Charleston. Kurt currently practices as a partner with the employment law firm of Addair Entsminger PLLC.

Jeanneane Maxon JD,
Board Member

With almost 15 years of executive level non-profit leadership, Jeanneane Maxon  is an attorney and nationally recognized speaker and human rights advocate.   She serves as an Associate Scholar for the Charlotte Lozier Institute. She authors a standing column in Christian Counseling Today, a magazine published by the American Association of Christian Counselors. In 2015, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with brain cancer, inspiring the #TeamJeanneane social media campaign.  From 2012 through 2015, she served as Vice President of External Affairs and Corporate Counsel for Americans United for Life (AUL), the legal architects of the pro-life movement and the first national pro-life organization in the United States. In this role, she oversaw the communications, development, operations, and coalition departments of AUL. From 2008 through 2011, Jeanneane served as the General Counsel of Care Net, a non-profit pregnancy help affiliation network with over 1200 pregnancy center members. 

In this role, she oversaw the legal education and advocacy program for the largest network of pregnancy centers in the nation, successfully leading pregnancy centers through numerous advocacy battles.   An avid spokesperson on Life issues, Jeanneane frequently appears in media, including  a Christian Broadcast Network feature story on pro-life pregnancy center advocacy airing on “The 700 Club,” ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, The Mike Huckabee Show, and the New York Times among others. 

She has also been widely published in print media including The Daily Caller, Christian Science Monitor, Washington Times, Real Clear Religion, and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission.  She has been actively involved in pro-life legislative battles, and has been called to testify before dozens of state legislative bodies. Jeanneane is in high demand as a keynote speaker for pro-life public awareness events.

Also serving as an educator on legal issues, Jeanneane has lectured in law schools and at numerous national conferences hosted by a range of non-profit organizations, including Care Net, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and Heartbeat International, as well as dozens of webinars and regional workshops.  Jeanneane co-authored a 600+ page manual entitled Legal Solutions: A Legal Resource for Life-Affirming Pregnancy Help Organizations, which remains the most widely used resource in the Pregnancy Care Center movement.  Jeanneane also served as faculty for two curriculums for the American Association of Christian Counselors, Introduction to Crisis Pregnancy Care and Caring for People God's Way. 

Additionally,  from 2012 through 2015, Jeanneane served as an Associate editor of Defending Life, an annual publication surveying pro-life progress and climate in the United States.   For forty publications, Jeanneane also served as the primary author and Editor in-Chief of Legal Care, a monthly legal newsletter for pro-life pregnancy support organizations. In college she authored an award winning college thesis entitled Richard Nixon’s Rapprochement with China, 1969-1972: An Important Yet Overly Praised Step in American Foreign Policy.

Jeanneane actively serves in pro-life and professional leadership. She is an Advisory Board member for Care Net Pregnancy and Family Services of Puget Sound.
